Village Veterinary Hospital - Our Veterinary Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Village Veterinary Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best. Below is a general overview of our services offered for your pet.
Wellness Care: We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness programs has rewards for both pets and their owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: a comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, spay and neuter package, and specialized blood tests for all stages.
Grooming: Full bathing and grooming services are offered for both dogs and cats. Bathing services include a nail trim, anal gland expression, and ear cleaning. Grooming services include the actual cut along with a bath, nail trim, ears cleaned and/or plucked, anal gland expression, cologne, and a bandana/bow.
Boarding: Pets are like our children, and we treat them that way when they board with us. Our highly qualified kennel attendants offer them tender loving care and supervised outdoor walks to keep them happy and active. Day care is also available for those pets that need a little TLC while you are at work.
Dental Care: Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.
Nutritional Counseling: Some pets require special food and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy.
Pharmacy: We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. Your pet is required to get a through exam on an annual basis in order to receive a prescription. We do this to insure that there are not any contraindications with any medicines we dispense. In addition, we highly recommend doing bloodwork for liver, kidney functions, white blood cell count, etc.
Microchipping: Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip product to increase the chances of a safe recovery. When getting the microchip, you are able to utilize HomeAgain’s website. If you and your pet are ever separated, you can go to the website to print flyers and are able to contact Veterinarians and Humane societies in regards to your pet. To search for a friend's microchip number, go to www.petmicrochiplookup.org/
Hospice/Euthanasia Services: Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is difficult. We work with clients to ensure their pet’s comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.
Preventative Care: We offer several options to keep your pet protected against heartworms, internal parasites, ticks, and fleas. We recommend your pets are on heartworm preventative year-round due to weather changes in the season. Please consult with our office manager to decide which choices are right for you and your pet. During your visit, please ask about any current rebate offers. For information about heartworms, consult the American Heartworm Society site at www.heartwormsociety.org.
Laser Therapy: We currently offer a therapy laser that helps with pain management and the regrowth of tissue. Packages are offered. Please call for pricing.
